Brief Introduction
Aerobic granular sludge is granular activated sludge formed by microbial self coagulation. Compared with ordinary activated sludge, it has the characteristics of less sludge bulking, strong impact resistance, can bear high organic load, and integrates microorganisms with different properties (aerobic, facultative and anaerobic microorganisms). Recent research results show that AGS can be used to treat high concentration organic wastewater, high salinity wastewater and many industrial wastewater. In 1991, Mishima and others first discovered AGS and reported for the first time that AGS was cultured by continuous aerobic upflow sludge blanket (AUSB). From this research result, people began the research process of AGS granulation. The research on AGS by domestic scholars began in 1995 and lags behind the research abroad.
