It is used to make anticorrosive agent for equipment and pipeline in ammonia treatment system. It is also used to test primary amine, secondary amine and α- Amino acids, solvents for measuring refractive index and chromatographic analysis. It is also used to extract oil from flaxseed, olive fruit, animal bone, leather and wool. Used as an accelerator for aviation.

This product is colorless, transparent, volatile liquid, with bad smell, soluble in ethanol and ether, insoluble in water. Dimethyl sulfide is an important solvent, which is an intermediate in the production of dimethyl sulfoxide, methionine and pesticides. It can be used as solvent for organic synthesis, polymerization and cyanidation. Used as analytical reagent, polyacrylonitrile and other synthetic fiber spinning and hydraulic oil. Trimethylamine (TMA), with molecular formula n (CH3) 3, is an organic compound and the simplest tertiary amine compound.
