Shah Glenn Dean is a treatment for type 2 diabetes, which stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin after meals. It is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-IV) inhibitor jointly developed by AstraZeneca and Bristol Myers Squibb. In July 31, 2009, Shack Leo Dean and Onglyza, a new type 2 diabetes mellitus developed jointly by AstraZeneca and Bristol Myers Squibb, were approved by the US FDA to treat adults with type 2 diabetes once a day, while controlling diet and strengthening exercise. The most common side effects are upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection and headache. Other side effects include allergic reactions such as rash and urticaria.
