Brief Introduction
Citric acid is a light yellow acicular crystal or powder, which is carbonized but does not melt above 300 ℃. Soluble in sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate solution, it turns blue after placing, slightly soluble in hydrochloride, almost insoluble in cold water. The color gradually darkens when exposed to light or air. It can be used in the synthesis of drugs, dyes and color film couplers.
