Brief Introduction
Triphenyl (also known as diphenylbenzene or biphenyl) is a kind of closely related aromatic hydrocarbons, which is composed of central benzene ring and two phenyl substituents. There are three isomers: o-triphenyl, m-triphenyl and p-triphenyl. Commercial cascaded triphenyls are generally mixtures of three isomers, which are used to produce polychlorinated biphenyls. PCTs were previously used as heat storage and transfer agents. P-terphenyl is the most common of the three isomers, which is used as raw material for dye laser and sunscreen.
