Brief Introduction
Nitrogen dioxide (chemical formula: NO2), is one of the nitrogen oxides. Room temperature as a reddish brown paramagnetic gas with pungent odors, freely soluble in water, dissolved in water to produce nitric acid and nitric oxide. Nitrogen dioxide is strongly irritating and corrosive to lung tissue after inhalation. Nitrogen dioxide, as one of the nitrogen oxides, is an intermediate product of industrial synthesis of nitric acid, and approximately several million tons are discharged into the atmosphere each year, being a major atmospheric pollutant.
