Brief Introduction
Copper formate, also known as copper benzoate, its anhydrous salt is light blue powder, slightly soluble in toluene and acetone, insoluble in cold water and ethanol, insoluble in benzene and petroleum ether. Dihydrate salt is light blue plate-shaped crystal, and it loses crystal water at 110 ℃. It does not melt above 200 ℃ and decomposes biphenyl, phenylacetone and carbon dioxide. Tetrahydrate salt is light blue acicular crystal, and crystal water is lost at 105 ℃. Dihydrate and tetrahydrate are soluble in pyridine, piperidine and dilute ammonia to form various complexes.
