N-Formyllonline is a pyrrolizidine alkaloid found in significant concentrations in tall fescue plants. N-Formyllonline, like many pyrrolizidine alkaloids are naturally occuring insect-deterrant compounds for protective purposes. N-Formyllonline have also been found to bind and activate D2 dopamine receptor in cell culture.
