Brief Introduction
Dimethyl maleate is an important organic chemical raw material, which is used as plasticizer, preservative of fatty oil and raw material of organic synthesis. Dimethyl maleate is used in the production of 1,4-butanediol, tetrahydrofuran, tetrahydrofuran, tetrahydrofuran and tetrahydrofuran by different catalytic hydrogenation processes γ- Butyrolactone, dimethyl succinate, 1,4-butanediol and dimethyl succinate can continue to be used in the production of fully biodegradable poly (butylene succinate) (PBS). Dimethyl maleate is also used as insecticide, bactericide, antirust additive and organic solvent.

This product is colorless to light yellow liquid at room temperature, soluble in water, ethanol and ether, which is mainly used in organic synthesis. It is a commonly used organic solvent. It is also an important intermediate in drug synthesis, which can be used in the synthesis of many drugs, such as chloroformic acid-3-chloropropyl ester, intermediate of nefenavir and clopidogrel. 3-Monochloropropanol has mutagenic and carcinogenic properties, which is the main chloropropanol found in hydrolyzates of vegetable protein (HVP) made by acid hydrolysis.
