Purposes:The product is a kind of brominated fire retardant and widely used as a fire retardant of synthetic materials; and due to its low toxicity and solubility in basic materials, it is widely applied. As an additive, it is mainly used for fire prevention of materials such as ABS, HIPS, epoxy resin, phenolic resin and unsaturated polyester oxide; and as an reactive fire retardant, the tetrabromobisphenol-A (TBBP-A) is widely used for producing brominated polycarbonate intermediate of brominated epoxy ester. Moreover, TBBP-A can also be used for synthesizing better fire retardants.

Typical Properties

Tetrabromobisphenol A is a multipurpose flame retardant. It is used as thermosetting resin such as phenolic resin and unsaturated polyester resin, polystyrene, as, ABS, etc. it is very effective as additive flame retardant. Better results can be obtained when it is used as reactive flame retardant in epoxy resin and polycarbonate.
