Carbomer 940
Carbomer 940 is a white loose powder. It has strong penetration and thickening performance, high transparency, high viscosity, strong suspension capacity, short rheology and thixotropy, low ionic shear resistance, and its main characteristics are swelling and slightly acidic. It is widely used in transparent gel, essence and cream products, especially suitable for high transparency products.
Function and use:
Carbomer 940 has the characteristics of short fluidity, high viscosity, high definition, low ion resistance and shear resistance. Its role in products is mainly reflected in three aspects: thickening, suspension and emulsification. Carbo 940 can produce high viscosity when the content is very low (conventional dosage: 0.25-0.5%). Carbo resin can be used as an excellent suspending agent to suspend insoluble components in the system. It can also be used as emulsifier to emulsify and stabilize oil-water phase. In addition, it is also the transparent matrix of cosmetics and an effective water-soluble thickener.
Technical indicators:
Appearance: loose white, slightly acidic powder. Attention:
After carbomer neutralization, long-term stirring or high shear stirring will cause viscosity loss. The existence of electrolyte will lower the thickening efficiency of carbomer resin. Long-term ultraviolet irradiation will reduce the viscosity of carbomer resin.
Carbomer is a kind of acrylic crosslinking resin crosslinked with acrylic acid by pentaerythritol and so on. It is a very important rheological regulator. After neutralization, Carbomer is an excellent gel matrix with thickening and suspension. It is simple, stable and widely used in emulsion, cream and gel.
