α- Pyrrolidone, also known as 2-pyrrolidone, for short α-PYR, CAS #616-45-5, molecular formula c4h7no, structural formula, molecular weight 85.11, colorless or light yellow liquid or crystal, melting point 24.6 ℃, boiling point 245 ℃ (atmospheric pressure), flash point 129 ℃. It is an important fine chemical intermediate. It is widely used as solvent, organic synthesis intermediate and pharmaceutical intermediate. It is also used to manufacture nylon-4 and vinyl pyrrolidone.
