Nicosulfuron is an endophytic herbicide that can be absorbed for both the weed stem and root and subsequently conducted in the plant body, causing growth arrest of susceptible plants, chlorosis of the stem and leaves, and gradual blight, generally resulting in death at 20-25 days of age, but taking a longer time for some perennial weeds when the temperature is lower. The efficacy of drug application was good before the 4-leaf stage of shoot growth and decreased when the seedlings were large. The drug has pre shoot herbicidal activity, but less activity than post shoot.
