1-hexanol, also known as n-hexanol, is an alcoholic organic compound and a six-carbon alcohol. Its chemical formula is C6H13OH, and its indicative formula is CH3(CH2)5OH. 1-Hexanol is a colorless liquid, slightly soluble in water, soluble in ether and ethanol. There are two straight-chain isomers of 1-hexanol (2-hexanol, 3-hexanol). The difference between the two is the position of the hydroxyl group.
