Introduction: polylactic acid (PLA) is a new type of bio based and renewable biodegradable material, which is made of starch raw materials proposed by renewable plant resources (such as corn, cassava, etc.).
Application: polylactic acid (PLA) is made from corn, cassava and other crops by microbial fermentation and extraction, and then refined, dehydrated oligomerized, high-temperature pyrolysis and polymerization. PLA has excellent biodegradability. It can be completely degraded by microorganisms in the soil within one year after being abandoned to produce CO2 and water without polluting the environment. PLA itself is an aliphatic polyester, with the basic characteristics of general polymer materials, good machining performance and low shrinkage. It can be used for most synthetic plastics. It is widely used in making packaging materials, disposable tableware, home appliance shell, fiber, 3D consumables, etc.
