The product can be used in the production of polyvinyl butyral plasticizer ester for safety glass, intermediate of alkyd resin stabilizer and polyol ester for synthetic lubricant. It is used in organic synthesis, in the production of heptanate products and as raw materials for spices. It is used to synthesize antifungal drugs.
