Product introduction

It is applied to prevent and control the cotton bollworm, cotton aphid, red bollworm, chilo suppressalis, tryporyza incertulas, rice leaf roller, leek maggot, etc. Instructions

1. Prevention and control of cotton bollworm; 44% EC 60 - 100 ml with 60 - 100 kg of water per mu to spray

2. Prevention and control of cotton aphid; 44% EC 30 - 60 ml with 30 - 60 kg of water per mu to spray

3. Prevention and control of red bellworm; 44% EC 60--100 ml with 60-100 kg of water per mu to spray

4. Prevention and control of leek maggot; 50% EC 300 - 500 ml with 450 - 800 kg of water per mu to spray

Precautions

1. Forbidden to be mixed with alkaline pesticides.

2. The combination of profenofos and cypermethrin shows obvious synergistic effect, and the product Polytrin is a kind of effective agents for the prevention and control of resistance cotton bollworm.

3. Poisoning patients should be sent to hospital for treatment and the treatment medicines are atropine or pralidoxime.

4. Safety interval: 14 days, the safe interval of profenofos in cotton is 5-12 days, the maximum number of times used per season: 3 times.

5. Profenofos is not suitable for orchards, for the high temperature will bring phytotoxicity on the peach, resulting in damages on the leaves.

6. The product can bring phytotoxicity to alfalfa and sorghum.

Physical and chemical properties

It is a kind of light yellow liquid with alliaceous odor and with the boiling point of 100℃/1.80Pa, the vapour pressure of 1.24×10^(－4)Pa(25℃), the density of 1.455(20℃), the KowlogP of 4.44, and the solubility in water of 28mg/L(25℃). It is miscible with most organic solvent, and relatively stable in neutral and faintly acid environment while unstable in alkaline environment.

Formulation

Features: With fast contact toxicity and stomach poisoning effect, it is still effective on cotton pests with resistance to other organophosphorus and pyrethroid, so it is a kind of effective pesticide to prevent and control the resistant cotton bollworm. It can exert more pesticide effect if used together with other pyrethroid or organophosphorus pesticide in regions with resistance.

Toxicity

Profenofos is a kind of pesticide with medium toxicity, without chronic toxicity, carcinogenic, teratogenetic or mutagenic effect, without irritation effect to skin, and poisonous to fishes, birds and bees.

Main applications

1. It is a kind of asymmetric organophosphorus insecticide with contact toxicity and stomach poisoning effect, without systemic action, with broad insecticidal spectrum, and able to prevent and control harmful insects and mites in the cotton and vegetable field. The applied dosage is: 2.5～5.0g effective ingredient/100㎡ for piercing-sucking pests and mites; 6.7～12g effective ingredient/100㎡ for chewing type pests.

2. It is used for the prevention and control of multiple pests in cotton, vegetable, fruiter and many other crops, especially with an impressive effect for the prevention and control of resistant cotton bollworm

3. It belongs to systemic broad spectrum pesticide which can prevent and control pests and mites in cotton and vegetable fields.

4. It belongs to ternary asymmetric non-systemic broad spectrum pesticide with contact toxicity and stomach poisoning effect, which can prevent and control the pests and mites in cotton, vegetables, fruiters and so forth. The applied dosage is counted by effective ingredient which is 16-32 g/mu for piercing-sucking insects and mites, 30-80g/mu for chewing type pests, and 30-50 g/mu for resistant cotton bollworm with special effects.
