CAS NO: 7681-52-9
Alias: Sodium Hypochlorite (Liquid); Bleach; Sodium Hypochlorite Solution;
It is easily soluble in water to generate caustic soda and hypochlorous acid, and hypochlorous acid is decomposed to generate hydrogen chloride and nascent oxygen. Due to the strong oxidizing ability of nascent oxygen, sodium hypochlorite is a strong oxidant. Its stability is affected by light, heat, heavy metal cations, and pH. Has a pungent odor. Anhydrous reagents have not been isolated. Alkaline solutions are colorless liquids. Slowly decompose NaCl, NaClO3 and O2. The rate of decomposition is related to concentration and free base. Light or heat can accelerate decomposition.

* Type a is suitable for disinfection, sterilization and water treatment. Type b is suitable for general industrial use.
Sodium hypochlorite is an oxidizing fungicide, and sodium hypochlorite solution is generally used in industrial circulating water. Sodium hypochlorite is mainly used in the bleaching of pulp, textiles (such as cloth, towels, undershirts, etc.), chemical fibers and starch. The soap industry is used as a bleaching agent for oils and fats. It is used as a water purifier, fungicide and disinfectant in water treatment. In agriculture and animal husbandry, it is used as a disinfectant and deodorant for vegetables, fruits, feedlots and livestock houses, etc. Food-grade products are used for the disinfection of drinking water, fruits and vegetables, and the sterilization of food manufacturing equipment and utensils.
Use plastic barrels and other packaging containers, and the filling port is sealed with a cover or a special tank car with a sealed cover. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 30℃. It should be stored separately from alkalis, and should not be mixed. Storage areas should be equipped with emergency release equipment and suitable containment materials.
