CAS NO.: 84-65-1
Alias: 9,10-ANTHRAQUINONE
Molecular formula: C14H8O2
Relative molecular weight: 208.21
Anthraquinone is one kind of faint yellow or light gray crystal(powder). It is freely soluble in hot benzene and toluene, and it is slightly soluble in ethanol, diethyl ether and chloroform. Besides, it is hardly soluble in cold benzene and insoluble in water. Anthraquinone is soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, and it is difficult to be oxidized. The reaction of Anthraquinone includes nitration, sulphonation and bromination.

Anthraquinone is widely used in producing dyes intermediates, paper-making additives and hydrogen peroxide.
For the dyes intermediates: With the process of sulphonation, chlorination, and nitration, Anthraquinone can be made into different kinds of dyes intermediates (more than 400 types) include: dispersion dyes, acid dyes, reactive dyes, and vat dyes. Anthraquinone plays a key point in the synthetic dyes industry.
For the paper-making additives: Adding a little Anthraquinone into the soda digestion liquor can increase the speed of delignification, reducing the time of paper cooking, and improving the pulp yield, also decreasing the waste fluid.
For the other fields: Anthraquinone can be used to produce high concentration of hydrogen peroxide and Anthraquinone-2-sodium in the fertilizer industry.
Packing: in bags of 25kgs, 300kgs, 500kgs, 600kgs and 1000kgs net each. Other modes of packing can be according to the customers’ demand.
Storage: Anthraquinone should be stored in cool, ventilated and dry indoor places.
