Introduction:
Altrenogest, also known as tetraestrone, is an oral active progesterone that inhibits the release of gonadotropins in a mode of action similar to natural progesterone. It has the dual properties of 19 nortestosterone and progesterone, and has unique pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties. Like all steroids, Altrenogest can penetrate into target cells through its own fat solubility and then bind to specific receptors to play a role. It is similar to the action mode of natural progesterone to inhibit the release of gonadotropin. It can be used as a drug for synchronous estrus in livestock.
