Usage: acetonitrile is mainly used as solvent. For example, as solvent for extracting butadiene, solvent for synthetic fiber and solvent for some special coatings. A solvent used in the petroleum industry to remove tar, phenol and other substances from petroleum hydrocarbons. It is used in the oil industry as a solvent for extracting fatty acids from driven vegetable oil and as a reaction medium for the recrystallization of steroids in medicine. Acetonitrile is the intermediate of Medicine (vitamin B1) and perfume. It is the raw material for manufacturing homotriazine nitrogen fertilizer synergist. Alcohol is also used as a denaturant. In addition, it can also be used to synthesize ethylamine and acetic acid, and has many uses in fabric dyeing and lighting industry.
