Product Description: brownish red to colorless transparent oily liquid. Melting point: 2 ℃. Boiling point 245 ℃. Soluble in most organic solvents, it can volatilize with water vapor and quickly turn brown in the air. It is an important raw material for the synthesis of dyes and pesticides.

Preparation method: obtained by chlorination and reduction of o-Nitrotoluene. 1. Chlorination in o-Nitrotoluene, add 2% ferric chloride as catalyst, inject chlorine at 50-60 ℃ until the relative density of the reaction solution reaches 1.27-1.29 (50 ℃), wash with 5% hydrochloric acid, then wash with water, and then adjust the pH to 7 with liquid alkali. Divide the water layer, evaporate the water, carry out vacuum distillation, collect the fraction of 120-150 ℃ (5.33-8.0kpa), cool, crystallize and filter to obtain 2-chloro-6-nitrotoluene. 2. Reduction add hydrochloric acid and iron powder into the reaction pot, stir and heat it to 90 ℃, slowly add molten 2-chloro-6-nitrotoluene, add it, and reflux for 3h. Cool, add liquid alkali, adjust pH to 8, and steam distillation to obtain 3-chloro-o-toluidine.
