Diphenylamine is white to light brown liquid. Insoluble in water, soluble in benzene, ethanol, ether, glacial acetic acid, carbon disulfide and concentrated inorganic acid.
Diphenylamine is mainly used in the synthesis of lubricating oil antioxidants, plastic antioxidants, rubber antioxidants, as well as gunpowder stabilizers, as well as dyes and pharmaceutical intermediates.
