Physicochemical properties: yellow crystalline powder, bitter almond odor and tasteless. It is easily soluble in chloroform, slightly soluble in acetone and almost insoluble in ethanol. The melting point is 125 ~ 131 ℃.
Product application: both phenylfluorenol and artemether are widely used antimalarial drugs in China. They are also the main drug components of compound artemether, a well-known antimalarial drug of Novartis pharmaceutical. They can kill the red phase clones of Plasmodium, with a high insecticidal rate and a cure rate of about 95%, but they are not effective for the prophase and gametophyte. The experimental animals were teratogenic and mutagenic. Clinically, it is mainly used for the treatment of falciparum malaria, especially for the treatment of chloroquine resistant falciparum malaria.
