1.3 Physical and Chemical Properties

This product is white or off white crystalline or crystalline powder. Odorless, slightly soluble in water (1 ∶ 100), greatly soluble in boiling water, almost insoluble in chloroform and ether; Slightly soluble in ethanol; Soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solution, the sodium salt of 5 - is soluble in water and stable in normal saline, m.p.281-284 ℃ (DEC). The pH of the brine solution is about 8.5-9.5
