Brief Introduction
Quinoline is a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound with strong odor and colorless hygroscopic liquid. When quinoline is exposed to light, it gradually turns pale yellow and further turns brown. Quinoline is slightly soluble in water, but easily soluble in many organic solvents. Quinoline is an important intermediate in metallurgy, dyestuff, polymer and agrochemical industry. Quinoline is toxic. Exposure to quinoline vapor for a short period of time may cause corrosion of nose, eyes and respiratory tract. It may also cause dizziness and nausea.
