Brief Introduction
Atrazine is a selective pre - and post seedling herbicide. It is mainly absorbed by roots, but little by stems and leaves. It is quickly transmitted to plant meristem and leaves, interfering with photosynthesis and killing weeds. In resistant crops, such as maize, it is decomposed by zeaxenase to produce non-toxic substances, so it is safe for crops. Atrazine has high water solubility, and its mobility in soil is greater than that of simazine. It is easy to be leached to deeper layer by rain, resulting in inhibition of some deep-rooted weeds. It can be decomposed by microorganisms in soil. The residual period can be as long as half a year depending on the dosage of Atrazine, soil texture and other factors. It is suitable for controlling annual and biennial broadleaf weeds and monocotyledon weeds in corn, sorghum, woodland, grassland and sugarcane.
