Brief Introduction
Phenylacetic acid is an intermediate of organic synthesis such as medicine, pesticide and perfume. It is used in the production of penicillin, dibazole and other drugs in the pharmaceutical industry. Phenylacetic acid was obtained by chlorination and esterification α- Ethyl chlorophenylacetate is used in the production of Daofeng powder and ethyl Daofeng powder, which are broad-spectrum organophosphorus insecticides. Phenylacetic acid itself is also a pesticide plant growth hormone. Phenylacetic acid widely exists in grapes, strawberries, cocoa, green tea, honey and so on. Phenylacetic acid has sweet honey taste at low concentration and still has sweet taste below 1ppm. It is an important spice component. Phenylacetic acid also has strong bactericidal effect.

P-Nitrophenylacetic acid is light yellow acicular crystal, soluble in hot water, ethanol and benzene, slightly soluble in cold water. It is mainly used in medicine and other organic synthesis, and can also be used in biochemical research. The product is obtained by hydrolysis of p-nitrophenylacetonitrile: p-nitrophenylacetonitrile, concentrated sulfuric acid and water are mixed, heated and refluxed for 15min. Then the reactant is poured into ice water, crystallized, filtered, the filter cake is washed with ice water, and recrystallized with water to obtain p-Nitrophenylacetic acid. The yield is over 92%.
