Brief Introduction
Silymarin is a kind of flavonoid compound extracted from the seed of silymarin, which is condensed by dihydroflavonol and phenylpropanoid derivatives. It is yellow powder or crystalline powder in appearance and bitter in taste. It is easily soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol and ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, and almost insoluble in water. It has a strong hepatoprotective effect. It can protect liver cells from free radical damage, far more effective than vitamin E, promote protein synthesis, speed up the production of new liver cells, and allow damaged liver cells to repair themselves. Therefore, it is called "natural hepatoprotective drug".
