Product Introduction:
This product is made by the ethylene's by-product, through separating and refining. It is colorless or yellowish transparent liquid with analogous camphor smell. It has great solubility with ethanol, ether and carbon tetrachloride, etc, but is undissolved in water.
Applications:
DCPD can be used as basic material of organic products such as: ferrocene, adamantane, nobornene, cyclopentene, cyclopentane, cyclopentanol, cyclopentanone, cyclopentane halide, glutaraldehyde and etc. This product also can be prepared to produce Hydrocarbonresin, unsaturated polyesrer resin and etc.
Packing, Storage and Transportation:
This product is packed in dry, clean tanker or Galvanized Steel Drum, which should be stored in ventilated, cool storehouse and kept in dark place away from kindling, heat source and. Do not store and transport with oxidant. It is banned to use open flame when using this product. The tanker must have static grounding device.
Index of Quality:
Dicyclopentadiene appears as a liquid with an acrid odor. Flash point 90°F. The vapors are irritating to the eyes and respiratory system. Subject to polymerization if subjected to heat for prolonged periods or if contaminated. If the polymerization takes place inside a container, the container may violently rupture. Insoluble in water. Density 8.2 lb / gal. Used in paints, varnishes, as an intermediate in insecticides, as a flame retardant in plastics.
The third monomer ethylene norbornene, polycyclopentadiene pesticide, flame retardant, medicine and perfume of polyester, resin and plastic used for the preparation of ethylene propylene rubber.
