Hydrogen Peroxide
Molecular formula: H2O2
Relative molecular weight: 34.01
Product performance: colorless transparent liquid with weak special smell, boiling point 106.2 ℃ (27.5%), 108 ℃ (35%), 115 ℃ (50%), relative density 1.1 g / cm3 (27.5%), 1.13 g / cm3 (35%), 1.2 g / cm3 (50%). Soluble in water, alcohol and ether, insoluble in benzene and petroleum ether. It is a highly explosive oxidant. Hydrogen peroxide itself is non combustible, but it can react with combustibles to release a large amount of heat and oxygen, causing fire and explosion.
Main uses: hydrogen peroxide can be used for medical, military and industrial purposes. Medical hydrogen peroxide with a concentration equal to or lower than 3% is used for daily disinfection. High concentration hydrogen peroxide can be used as rocket power combustion supporting agent. The chemical industry is used as raw materials for the production of sodium perborate, sodium percarbonate, peracetic acid, sodium chlorite, thiourea peroxide, etc., and as oxidants for tartaric acid, vitamins, etc. The pharmaceutical industry is used as bactericide, disinfectant and oxidant for the production of thiram insecticide and 40L antibacterial agent; Printing and dyeing industry is used as bleaching agent of cotton fabric and hair color after vat dyeing; It is used to remove iron and other heavy metals in the production of metal salts or other compounds. It is also used in electroplating solution to remove inorganic impurities and improve the quality of plated parts; It is also used for bleaching wool, raw silk, ivory, pulp, fat, etc.
Packaging, storage and transportation: hydrogen peroxide is a colorless and transparent liquid. Due to its lively nature and easy decomposition, closed containers should be used as far as possible during storage. Hydrogen peroxide shall be packaged, stored and transported in plastic or stainless steel containers, which shall be equipped with dust-proof exhaust ports to safely release possible gases and avoid explosion. It shall be stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse, away from kindling and heat sources. The temperature of the warehouse shall not exceed 30 ℃. It shall be stored separately from inflammables, reducing agents, active metal powders, etc. it shall not be stored together, and it is not easy to store for a long time. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate receiving materials. The oxidant shall be transported according to the transportation rules to prevent violent shaking and direct sunlight or heating. It is strictly prohibited to store and transport with alkali, metal and metal compounds, inflammables, reducing agents and other articles.
