Cefazoxime sodium is a chemical. It is a third-generation cephalosporin. It has broad-spectrum antibacterial effect on a variety of gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and stabilizes lactamases (including penicillinase and cephalosporinase).

Ceftizoxime sodium is also called (6r,7r)-7-[[(2z)-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)(methoxyimino)acetyl]amino]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid sodium salt. The chemical formula is C13H12N5O5S2.Na, molecular weight 405.39, soluble in water.
Indication:
Lower respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, abdominal infection, pelvic infection, sepsis, skin and soft tissue infection, bone and joint infection, meningitis and simple gonorrhea caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae.
Taboos:
1. It is forbidden for those allergic to this product and other cephalosporins.
2. Use with caution for those allergic to penicillin.
3. Be careful if you or your parents or brothers are prone to bronchial asthma, rash, urticaria and other allergic constitution.
4. Patients with high renal damage, patients with eating difficulties or non oral nutrition, patients with low general status and elderly patients must be used with caution.
Drug interactions:
When combined with coumarins, it is possible to enhance the effect of coumarins; There are reports of nephrotoxicity when combined with diuretics such as furan phenylamine, other cephalosporins and aminoglycoside antibiotics.
