Carvacrol is a monoterpenoid phenolic compound, which naturally exists in the essential oils of Labiatae plants such as oregano, thyme and winter peppermint. At present, studies have confirmed that carvacrol has a variety of biological activities of anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation and antibacterial. It is widely used in spices, food additives, feed additives, antioxidants and pharmaceutical intermediates. It is a recognized safe and broad-spectrum natural antibacterial agent.

Physicochemical properties:
Colorless to light yellow, slightly viscous oil. Put it in air and light to darken its color. It is pungent, cool and herbal, with a smell similar to thymol. Soluble in ethanol, ether, propylene glycol and alkali, insoluble in water. Miscible in oils.
