Brief Introduction
Lysine is a chemical α- Amino acid is an essential amino acid for human body, which belongs to basic amino acid. Synthesis of lysine ε- Methylation of amino groups is a common post-translational modification to form monomethyl, dimethyl and trimethyllysine. Trimethyllysine occurs in calmodulin. In addition, lysine residues can be modified by acetylation and ubiquitination. Hydroxylysine in collagen is hydroxylated by lysine hydroxylase. O-glycosylation of hydroxylysine residues in endoplasmic reticulum or Golgi apparatus can be used to mark the secretion of specific proteins from cells. Lysine can exist in L - or D - stereoisomers. But only L-forms exist in biological proteins. D-amino acids can be transformed into L-amino acids. D-lysine has no biological activity, so all commercial lysines are L-lysine. This product is mainly used for biochemical research and preparation of culture medium.
