Brief Introduction
Pitavastatin is an anti hyperlipidemic drug developed by Japanese company. It is not only a new, efficient, safe and chemically synthesized statin with the most cost-effective ratio, but also a strong 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitor. It not only has a strong effect of reducing LDL-C and TC, but also has significant gene polymorphism It has high bioavailability, long half-life and only a few of them are metabolized by CYP2C9. It was registered in Japan in November 1999 and listed in Japan (2003), China (2009) and the United States (2010) successively for the treatment of primary hyperlipidemia, familial hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia.
