Gas description
Carbon monoxide is a kind of carbon oxide compound with the chemical formula of CO and the amount of chemical formula of 28.0101. It is a colorless, odorless and non irritating gas under standard conditions. In terms of physical and chemical properties, carbon monoxide has a melting point of -205.1 ℃ and a boiling point of -191.5 ℃. It is slightly soluble in water and is not easy to liquefy and solidify. When it burns in the air, it is a blue flame. At higher temperatures, it decomposes into carbon dioxide and carbon. It is very easy to combine with hemoglobin in the blood to form carboxyhemoglobin, which makes hemoglobin lose its ability and function of carrying oxygen, causing tissue asphyxia and death in serious cases.
Main uses of the product
1. It is used to make sodium formate and as reducing agent in metallurgical industry.
2. Industrial reduced iron oxide (preparation of iron) is used as gas fuel, such as water gas (mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen).
3. Industrial reduction of iron oxide (preparation of iron).
4. Use of carbon monoxide gas: fuel, reductant, raw material for organic synthesis, used for preparing carbonyl metal, phosgene, carbon dioxide, aromatic aldehydes, formic acid, benzene hexaphenol, aluminum chloride, methanol, used for hydroformylation, used for preparing synthetic gasoline from hydrocarbons), synthetic alcohol (mixture of carboxyl, ethanol, aldehyde, ketone and hydrocarbon), zinc white pigment, alumina film forming, standard gas, correction gas, and standard gas for on-line instruments.
Carbon monoxide is the main component of syngas and all kinds of gas. It is an important raw material of organic chemical industry and the basis of C1 chemistry. It can produce a series of products, such as methanol, acetic acid and phosgene, and can be used as reducing agent in gold treatment industry. At present, the industrialized C1 chemical production technologies mainly include: (1) acetic acid synthesis. (2) Acetic anhydride synthesis. (3) Oxalic acid synthesis. (4) Fischer Tropsch synthesis. (5) Mobile method.
