Electronic Grade Hydrofluoric Acid
Formula: HF
CAS No. 7664-39-3
Division Of Class: 8.1, corrosives presenting acidic properties
Physical and chemical properties: The formula is HF, and the molecular weight is 20.01, it is a kind of colorless and transparent liquid, and the relative density is around 1.15-1.18. It can have a reaction with the normal metal, metallic oxide and hydroxide, generating all kinds of salts. With high corrosivity, it can erode glass and silicate, generating gaseous silicon tetrafluoride. High purity hydrofluoric acid can be used as a highly acid detergent and corrodent, which can also be used with nitric acid, glacial acetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and ammonium hydroxide and etc, with a certain proportion.
Application range: Hydrofluoric acid can be applied in solar photovoltaic, LCD, and semiconductor industries, mainly playing a role in surface cleaning of silicon wafers and cleaning and etching in the chip manufacturing process. Besides, it can also be an analytical reagent, the industrial chemical reagent in atomic energy and making high purity chemicals containing fluorine. Spec.:

Storage and package transportation: it should be carefully uploaded and discharged, no crashing, no damage, no being heated and out of the rain. It should be stored in the well-ventilated warehouse.
It is used in the manufacture of organic or inorganic fluoride, such as fluorocarbon, sodium fluoride, aluminum fluoride, uranium hexafluoride and cryolite. It is also used for pickling of stainless steel and non-ferrous metals, engraving and lettering of glass instrument scales, glassware and mirrors, polishing of glassware, treatment of frosted bulbs and general bulbs, silicon removal and purification of metal graphite emulsion, sand removal of metal castings, removal of graphite ash, and manufacturing of Semiconductors (germanium and silicon). It is also used as a catalyst for dye synthesis and other organic synthesis. It is also used in electroplating, reagent, fermentation, ceramic treatment and the manufacture of fluororesin and flame retardant.
