Linezolid (LZD) is a narrow spectrum antibiotic. It is the first one for clinical use. It is effective in the treatment of drug-resistant gram positive bacterial infections and drug-resistant tuberculosis. It is mainly metabolized by the liver, but not by CYP450 enzymes, has no induction to P450 enzymes, and does not inhibit the activity of human cytochrome isoenzymes. Therefore, the incidence of potential drug interactions is low.
